One of the nicest things about So Pretty! Crochet is the great variety of designs from some of today's most creative crocheters. In addition to classic favorites (such as a granny-square pillow cover, lovely snowflake ornaments, covered hangers, cozy slippers, cashmere mittens and a rag rug), you'll find plenty of unique designs that let you play with unexpected techniques and materials, including leather bracelets with crochet embellishments and a delicate linen thread necklace. These 24 lacy and feminine designs aren't terribly difficult to crochet and they make the most charming gifts. Each one comes with a full-sized photo of the finished project and three creative ways to customize it to make it your own.

Just got this and had to rush to the website to give it a good review! This is a great book! Here's why:
1) I can use every one of the projects in this book, and I will.
2)The editor gives a nice little background on each of the contributors, which adds a nice touch, and makes doing the projects more appealing. I love it when an author includes a bit about themselves-makes the reader feel connected to the writer/designer.
3)The editor recommends Maggie Righetti's book, "Crocheting in Plain English" in her sources. This has been my crochet bible for years and years! Any time I'm having trouble, I go back to that book. Great writer/teacher!!! Bravo to editor Amy Palanjian for including it in her "trusted crochet books" list! And a hint to Crafter's Choice-please carry the new edition of "Crocheting in Plain English"!
4)As a dog lover, it's great to see the dear Shiba Inu in some of the photos.
5)The editor gives credit to her grandmothers for nourishing her creativity. My grandmother did this also, and was the one who taught me how to crochet.
If I could give this book more stars, I certainly would! Bravo!

I was excited to get the book and tried 2 different patterns. The directions were not clear on starting the projects, maybe it needs to be advertised for more advanced crocheters. I sent it back.

The hat on the cover really caught my attention. It is a pattern that I plan to make. Most of the designs in this book are nice. But the cover hat is my favorite. Book is very well organized, easy to read and look at, with easy to read written directions. A good book to use for quick projects.
