I think that this book would cover all your needs for pin cushions. There really are examples of all sorts of cushions and many have a really sweet or sense of humour about them that is adorable. Templates are included at the back of the book. Lots of advice on sewing techniques. My favourites? Too many! But they include the dinosaur, wide-eyed owl, cactus, pincushion with pockets, and slice of cake. Most of the projects are for adults or young teens - many can be worked easily in a day, with the usual scraps that most sewers and crafters have. This would make my Top Twenty list.
