Now Eat This

Dijon mustard, fresh herbs, garlic, Greek yogurt, real bacon bits…this is the ammunition in Rocco DiSpirito’s arsenal when he cooks for the contestants on The Biggest Loser, and they’re what’ll turn your favorite comfort foods from dangerous to divine—from both your taste buds’ and your doctor’s perspectives! In Now Eat This, the “flavor guy” takes the extra calories, fat and sugar out of 150 recipes for fried chicken, jalapeño poppers, nachos, pizza and other “downfall dishes,” leaving nothing but the great taste (and 350 calories or less per serving!) behind. Plus, diet advice and other cook’s secrets throughout will have you looking svelte in no time—and most of these dishes can be made in under 30 minutes. Color photos.

So far so good....

Ok so truth be told I've only made a few things from this cookbook, but if the rest of the recipes are as good as the ooey gooey garlic bread, then this was one of the best investments I've ever made! My picky fiancee said it was the best he has ever had!

low fat brownies
April 07, 2010

After seeing Rocco on TV I couldnt wait to try the brownies.Everyone said how good they were. Well I tried the recipe more than once to see if I was doing something wrong but they still tasted terrible. I wish I knew what he did because I sure couldnt copy his recipe.

Okay but....
April 02, 2010

Good recipes (uses lowfat cheese a lot, which I think is vile), and some great recipes for dressings and mayo-like substances. But where-oh-where do I find Greek yogurt? Not available here, and I don't live in anything resembling a backwater. Decided I will drain regular yogurt to Greek yogurt consistency....? Nice work-arounds for calorie reduction without going the "buy every fakey-tasting lowfat thing on the shelf and try to make food out of it" route. Thanks, Rocco!
