Anyone who would advocate stencilling an Eames chair has no idea of the value of the chair - uh, which would be zippo after you do that to it. I have trouble with the Sneak Peeks, too.

I am not writing about the book because I can't see the "sneak peak". One out of four work on this site. Therefore, I will not buy the book. Very agravating!

I was very disappointed with this book. Some of the refinishing or repurposing ideas were OK but didn`t seem to have much flair. I could not relate many of the items and would like to know where the garage sales and flea markets are that she goes to. How many people actually find old Eames chairs in these venues?

The basic techniques chapter is worth the price of this book with all it explains for cleaning a variety of surfaces; removing rust, stains, and sticky stuff; prepping for painting; rewiring an old or new lamp; tightening joints on wooden furniture; and setting up your work space. I am ready to scour the garage sales in my neighborhood now!

I love to go to flea markets and garage sales. This book should in theory be perfect for someone like me. However, I find that most of the projects don't look that great, like the green table lamp - it actually looked better before the paint. Perhaps if you are a flea market beginner you could benefit from this book for some basic ideas and then do your own thing.
