Marthe Le Van challenged top designers to create a pair of earrings in 30 minutes flat and the result is 60 sleek and stylish earring projects perfect for everyone with some knowledge of basic metalworking skills, but little time to spare. In just a half hour you can make gold or sterling silver hoops, drop earrings, earrings embellished with pearls or crystals, or even earrings with luxurious texture or gorgeous patinas. While the step-by-step instructions help you along, there is no primer section on tools and techniques. Even so, these earrings are well worth the effort it will take to expand your jewelry-making skills to do things like wireworking, filing and polishing as well as using a bench tool kit, a soldering kit and a kiln.

This book is definitely not for someone who only does wire-wrapping, beading or stringing. If you have some experience or beginning jewelry classes for metal-smith, soldering, using bench tools, drilling, etc. this is a great book. There is even one or two that you would use a kiln. The earrings are unique with a great range of different styles using different methods. There are no repeats here. Each earring is completely different then the next. You can make the earrings just as you see in the book or just take the idea and technique and apply it to your own design.
This is exactly what I have been looking for.

Not what I expected. Some of the requirements include a license plate ? cuttlefish bone ? sterling silver sheets.
Not for the average person that just wants to make a pair of earrings instead of an art project. Returning the book.
