Crocheted Afghans

Some of these projects may look difficult, but they were actually created with simplicity in mind, so they’re all achievable for crocheters at every skill level. Melody Griffiths, a favorite author here at the Club (remember Crochet in No Time and 201 Crochet Motifs, Blocks, Projects and Ideas?) returns with a variety of 25 projects sure to delight.
Crocheted Afghans is practically bursting at the binding with a wide range of looks to suite every taste. You’ll find designs inspired by: antique lace, Native American textiles, Scandinavian style, crazy quilt patchwork, retro wallpaper, the great outdoors and even ikat weavings. Each project includes either extra ideas for making something else (such as a Navajo-style cushion with a saw-tooth motif that perfectly complements the Navajo blanket) or instructions for altering the size (for example, add additional fabric strips to the Rainbow baby blanket to make it full-sized). Plus a complete crochet tutorial covers everything you need to know to make everything in this book.
From a seaside coverlet to a shaker-style throw to a wildly-romantic wild rose afghan, these blankets can add great style to your home—and they make fabulous gifts!

Some of the patterns are new and/or have great color combinations but other ventured into the slightly odd range. Photos were great though! Would recommend for someone looking for the more offbeat.

I love this book. It's have great patterns to do. Some are difficult to do or to understand, but some way I got to do it. It's also easy to make different choices of yarns to do the pattern. Most of the afghan should be called "Throws or Blankets". I also look for the patterns and compare with others crochet books that have different texture and choices of yarns to work with. I really LOVE TO CROCHET! At night is my way to relax and keep my hands busy. I rated a four it great details.
