Fabric Embellishing The Basics & Beyond

Jam-packed with fun ways to spice up any textile projects, this creative new addition to the Club favorite Basics & Beyond series is essential reading for anyone who loves working with fabric. Weaving, embroidery (hand and machine), beading, felting, foiling, dévoré…it’s all here, along with great ideas for using inkjet fabric sheets, Lutradur®, foam, plastic packs, silk cocoons, even heat-bondable fibers. In addition to hundreds of photos to guide and inspire you, what’s really fantastic about this book is that textile artists Ruth Chandler, Liz Kettle, Heather Thomas and Lauren Vlecek show you how to create an 8" x 10" quilt square for each technique you learn. Try them all and you’ll have 50-plus squares to put to beautiful use.

Lots of great ideas and many new and different ones I haven't tried before. Liked the idea of creating samples of each to find out which ones you like the most.

ELABORATE COLLECTION

WOW! What an elaborate collection of fabric embellishment techniques. I bought this book for crazy quilting. These women are intelligent and creative. A must have for ANY crafter/quilter. My teenager who beads, (but hates quilting) is excited about a joint project. FINALLY! If you can't fire up with this book your wood's wet.

I just bought this book and read it cover to cover in one day. I'm going to do all of the crafts as I found it to be a wonderful read and inspiring. The fact that the projects are small will be encouraging and I can enjoy the journey.

Excellent book

This book is hands-down the best book I've bought through the club. The techniques are clear and easy to follow. There is a wide variety of ideas from paper embellishments to trinkets and metal work. I'm considering buying several as gifts, it is just that good.
