Fleece Navidad

Kelly Flynn and her House of Lambspun friends are knee deep in holiday projects, not least of which is helping librarian Juliet Renfrow teach children how to knit. Juliet is known for her beautiful handmade capes, and she has an extra reason to be joyful this year—she’s in love. But just as she finds happiness, death finds her: She’s killed by a hit-and-run driver…wearing one of Juliet’s trademark capes.

Suspicion falls on the newcomer—a woman who spins a colorful yarn about her past. Is Claudia Miller just a lonely widow or, as her accusing stepdaughter insists, a schemer who would kill to steal Juliet’s beau? Someone’s trying to pull the wool over everyone’s eyes, and it’s up to Kelly to find out who. Recipes; knitting patterns.

as big as a house
January 14, 2009

Honestly, I don't think anyone can drink that much coffee and eat so much junk without becoming as big as a house or in the hospital with heart palpations. The main characters act way to immature for as important as they are supposed to be. The information about weaving and spinning is interesting but the mystery itself is pretty forgettable.

I'm a big fan of Maggie Sefton's books and enjoyed this one as much as I did all the rest. Can't wait for the next one. Karine

Great Read for Crafters/ Mystery Buffs
January 13, 2009

This book is another fascinating read to mystery buffs.......how does the yarn and the mystery interweave to reach a solution? For all the crafters, there are wonderful Christmas patterns to create and great appetitizing dishes to whip up for great eating. This book works to soothe and relad the reader. A side plus is the great description of the landscape of the southwst.

Predictible
December 02, 2008

I finished the book, but just barely. It is my first by this author and I found the main characters arrogant and self-righteous. At one point, the "regulars" were on one side of an issue and the "newcomers" on the opposite (and of course wrong) side of the same issue. I usually find redeeming qualities in a book and the best thing I can say about this one is that I finished it and there's a really good gingersnap recipe at the end.
