Special Techniques & Stitches in Crochet

Judy Crow created this marvelous book especially for crocheters who love to try anything and everything new. Each chapter covers a different technique, from Irish crochet to diagonal crochet (a method of crochet done corner to corner) to punched fabric (where pieces of fabric are joined together using crochet) and comes with 55 beautiful projects to practice what you’ve learned, such as a contemporary waves rug, a knit-look sweater and a delicate linen squares doily. You’ll also find an impressive array of shell, lace, open weave, textured, rippled and other unique stitches, plus pretty borders to use as you see fit. If you’re always on the lookout for rare and unusual stitches, then this is the book for you! Softcover.

I really enjoyed learning the new techniques and was able to make two projects from the DVD. Can't wait to start on something else

Not enough pictures
February 18, 2010

I got this book not too long ago. It has lots of techniques but not enough how-to pictures. It has the basic crochet stitches in the back but I already knew those. I need more pictures and how-to drawings. Written instructions only are of little help to me. The one sweater pattern has no diagrams or drawings showing the shape of the pieces. If you need pictures and diagrams, don't buy this book.

I can't wait to start!

I just got this book and I love the patterns! They are new and very pretty. I can't wait to get started! I found several projects I want to make. I have been crocheting for about 35 years and there are patterns in here that I have never seen before! I will definitely keep this book.

This Book Stands Out From The Rest

I plan to make the handbag. Looks off the rack. A friend who does not crochet browsed this book and she wishes she could crochet. Although some of the yarns are not available in my area, I am motivated to purchase online some of the lovely yarns. This will be one of my favorites.
