Jelly Roll Quilts

Fat quarters were a revolution in quilting—buying a bundle of pre-mixed colors and patterns made quilting so easy. All you had to do was fall in love with a stack. You already knew how the colors would play together. Jelly Rolls are taking that idea and running with it. Like fat quarters, jelly rolls are offered in a pre-mixed assortment of color-coordinated fabrics, but this time around the fabric is cut into 2½" strips and all rolled up in a colorful disc. This book introduces you to the jelly roll, then takes you through 17 projects specifically designed to make the most of these strips, from simple square designs to stars and log cabins and more. It’s time to roll with it! Color photos. Softcover.

wonderful book

I had never used jelly rolls before I purchased this book, I would just go and look at them in my local quilt shop. When I got this book I went jelly roll crazy! This book has very nice patterns with fairly easy and clear instructions and pictures that help make the points clear. I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to do more than stare at those awsome jelly rolls!

super book

I love this book! I had bought a number of jelly rolls the past year but didn't care for any of the patterns that I found in stores. Then I bought this book and loved just about every pattern in it! The instructions are very precise and clear and it actually inspired me to make a "diamond" quilt which, as you quilters know, is not the easiest project. However, the authors came up with a "cheaters" method which makes this quilt very simple. There are lots of other great quilts in this book as well, and there is a nice range from the simple to the more complicated.

Nice Quilts

I appreciate the patterns in this book and love the ease of sewing the strips together instead of cutting separate blocks. However, the one problem I disagree with is listed under the Copyright page that states "The designs in this book are copyright and must not be stitched for resale" I wanted to sew these patterns into quilts and then resell them and this was the reason I purchased the book. It did not give me that information before purchasing it online.

Wonderful descriptions and easy to follow
April 08, 2009

This book has some great instructions and everything is in color which makes it really easy to follow. I made a quilt by NOT using a jelly roll and it turned out beautiful. This book is so great because you can either use a jelly roll or not. It gives directions for both. There are also wonderful patterns in this book. I can't wait to make my next quilt.
