I reread this from time to time(all the John Carter series). They never get old and remain unmatched. Probably because they are one of a kind. Now if only they would do up the whole Pellucidar series, there are quite a few, including one with Tarzan giving them a visit.

A fabulous book.Highly enjoyable for those that like Science Fiction/Fantasy.It is well written and will have waiting with baited breath to see what happens to our hero and his love as we turn the page from John Carter's plight to his triumph (we hope).

Heroic fantasy has two fathers; Edgar Rice Burroughs and Robert E Howard. Modern readers may find the premiseof the "Princess of Mars" series a trifle hard to accept (Dejah Thoris lays eggs but can interbreed with an Earth human, eh?) but if one puts these quibbles aside they are grand adventure in a style that is regrettably rare.

John Carter is my favorite sf fantasy hero and this is my favorite series. But I've never read Carson of Venus and Moon Men...what's that about...never mind, if they are Burroughs then I want to read them. Hoping the club will get them.

I have read and reread all of Burroughs John Carter stories. So many people forget that Tarzan was not his only or even his greatest creation. The only thing this lacks is completion. At some point all of the novels need to be collected together. Not just 3 here and there.
And..... what ever happened to Carson of Venus and the Moon Men?
