Love motif-based crochet designs, but hate sewing together seams and hiding yarn tails? With Kristin Omdahl's revolutionary technique, the motifs are crocheted in one seamless strip, so at the end of it all only the beginning and end yarn tails need be woven in. Not only is this a fantastic time-saving technique, but it can also be adapted for use in any motif-based project, and not just the 18 in Seamless Crochet. From a chic three-color shawlette with a pretty star motif, to an heirloom-worthy blanket with a three-dimensional flower motif, they’re real stunners. Of course, we'd expect nothing less from this master designer and author of club smash hits Wrapped in Crochet and Crochet So Fine. Includes instructional DVD.

The technique is very confusing and the drawings don't seem to match the finished product photos. The designs are just ugly. The only pretty one, in my humble opinion, is the cover design. I'm returning this one.

I've seen Kristin interviewed where she demonstrated a couple of her projects from this book. Her technique is a very practical one and for THAT reason the book is worth the price to me. I loved that baby afghan of roses. I wasn't so crazy about other things but if you just learned the technique, you can apply them to your favorite projects. The Blue Lagoon is a hexagon motif - the possiblity of replacing the hexagon with a hexagon you adore is the thing to do. The Star Mobius is a bit to airy for me but here again the technique of joining is indispensable unless you like joining the old way. She is self-taught. Watch the DVD! I'm a visual learner too, but there are ways to overcome it when it becomes a limitation to your experience. Since there is a DVD included there should be no issue.

I watched DVD and then looked at book I love these patterns. I like not having all the ends to tie in. Almost finished shawl on front of book. Directions and charts are pretty easy to figure out.

I watched the video and looked at the instructions before I could get it figured out. I have only attempted one simple shawl so far. The results are very pretty and I love not having all those ends to tie in. I am looking forward to trying a more complicated pattern! I would recommend this book for those who enjoy a bit of a challenge.
